South America Mission

 Micah & Haley Bittner
Serving in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Micah lived in Papua New Guinea for 12 years where his parents served with New Tribes Mission (now Ethnos360).

He and Haley met at Moody Bible Institute. Soon after Micah received his A&P license, they married. Micah got his first job as a mechanic in California. Before their one-year wedding anniversary, they moved to Texas. They have two boys.

Using their God-given talents of hospitality and discipleship, they serve in Santa Cruz, Bolivia together. As part of the SAMAIR Bolivia team, Micah works as an aircraft mechanic. And Haley supports the many exciting ministries alongside our SAM missionaries in Santa Cruz.

SAMAIR is the vital link in a mission effort to carry the Gospel into the most remote areas of the Bolivian countryside, assisting in evangelism, pastoral support and strengthening the body of Christ through discipleship and leadership formation. Missions aviation directly enables the reach and influence of gospel workers in rural and remote locations.

SAMAIR Bolivia provides safe, efficient, and affordable air transportation. We reach remote areas of Bolivia that are difficult to access because of their physical isolation. The lack of infrastructure in areas served by SAMAIR makes the airplane a unique tool in reaching those in need. Service to these communities demonstrates Christ’s love by meeting spiritual, social and physical needs.

SAMAIR Bolivia’s focus is the eastern lowlands and the northern flood plains of the Amazon basin of Bolivia. About half of the year, varying by region and intensity of the rainy season, remote areas of these regions are inaccessible by land.

South America Mission has been working to see the Church of Jesus Christ multiplied and transforming communities by embodying the Kingdom of God. It has been our privilege to participate in Christ’s sufferings. Some have even laid down their lives. We rejoice in the progress of the gospel, a result of the faithfulness of those who have gone before. Yet our zeal for God’s glory in the nations has not waned.

Today that zeal translates into visible form through our missionaries and partners working to share the gospel, reproduce authentic disciples of Jesus, plant churches, train leaders and equip God’s people to minister transformationally.
